Augustus Court has a reasonably sized landscaped garden at the rear of the property with trees and shrubs and a gentle slope. There is a contract with professional gardeners to cut the grass and attend to the flower beds on a regular basis.
The garden is a visual amenity as well as being an open space. It is for the benefit and enjoyment of all residents of all ages and you are asked to respect this and be flexible in your understanding.
The boundaries of your flat are defined by the walls of the main building. All of the outside space on the ground beyond that is designated as communal. Other than the parking bays, no outside space is assigned to any one flat. The pathway that runs around the building adjacent to the outside wall should be kept as clear as possible to allow free passage as required, especially during the winter months. Please, though, respect your neighbours’ privacy when using the garden and the pathway.
You are welcome to have barbecues on the rear garden but you are requested to do this in the open area on the upper part of the garden and as far away from the flats as possible, especially during warm days when windows may be open. All barbecues must use a purpose-built and waist-height stand that keeps all heating and cooking materials off the ground or grass.
Under no circumstances must any barbecues or other form of cooking be done along the path adjacent to the building and certainly not on any balcony. Other than the nuisance of fumes to other residents, it is a potential fire risk.
Also there must be no open fires started anywhere within the grounds.
Its proximity to the flats means the garden is not suitable for extended noisy playing or boisterous ball games. In particular, please do not use adjoining property fences as goalposts or for target practice. The facilities of Wimbledon Park are only a 10 minute walk away and you are asked to consider that as an alternative, especially for older children.
